CHARLOTTETOWN (September 14, 2020) – The PEI Brewing Company is proud to announce that they received two awards in two separate categories at the 2020 Canadian Brewing Awards which were held in a virtual awards ceremony on September 12th. These Awards are Canada’s national competition for judging the quality of Canadian manufactured beer and a medal is a widely recognized symbol of Canadian brewing excellence.

Beach Chair Lager won silver in the North American Style Premium Lager category. Beach Chair Lager is an approachable craft lager made with top quality Canadian Pilsner malts, spicy European noble hops and lager yeast. The brand was launched in 2013 as the first canned craft beer in Atlantic Canada and quickly became a go-to part of the PEI experience.

Gahan Setting Day Saison won bronze in the Session Ale category. The award marks two wins for Setting Day, which took home gold at the 2016 awards. Setting Day is made with moderate alcohol but full of character. A perfect complement to a hard day's work.

Jeff Squires, President of the PEI Brewing Company, commented; “It is an honour to have two of our beers recognized at the national level again this year. We are very proud of our brew team whose passion and dedication continue to deliver amazing products year after year. It is incredibly rewarding to have our products recognized by the industry, our peers and supporters. These two beers in particular are Island through and through and it’s quite special to have them represent PEI on the national stage.”

The 2020 wins mark 18 Canadian Brewing Awards for PEI Brewing Company who have taken home wins in various categories every year since their inception in 2011.
